MESSAGE FROM BARBARA (NABHAN) GRIESMAN

Imagine my surprise to see a group photo which included me on the Classical High web page.  It was my sister who alerted me to it and immediately after that I received the letter.  (Me on the far left holding a can of Coke.)

Life is very full. Travel – yes!  My husband, Kyle, and I travel quite a bit.  I had a lifelong dream to visit Paris.  He made that dream come true.  We have made several return trips and I have been studying French for several years.  Other international countries:  Italy & Switzerland.  US cities:  New York, L.A. Chicago, Dallas. – our favorite vacation spot is Laguna Beach, California.

I am so thankful for my Classical High education and am constantly amazed at the database of facts that still remain in my memory.  We had great teachers and a truly “classical education”.  I still look back upon it as the best time in my life. Community service – yes, but mostly serving on committees or volunteering, donating, etc.

Life lessons – you are not your job, but have fun in whatever you do.

Talent – after 8 years of piano lessons (quitting after high school), I have just begun taking lessons again.  My new favorite thing is my baby grand piano and, unlike when I was younger, I actually do practice.  It’s very relaxing and music has always been in my life.

Life’s work – for the past 25 years I have been with the same ad agency in Phoenix.  I manage a team of 12 professionals and our responsibilities include buying television, radio time, as well as web & print placement.  It’s the best career and I love my work.

I hope this email finds you well.  Even though I won’t be at the reunion, my best regards and well wishes to all.  Have a great time and I’ll look forward to seeing the pictures on the website.
